A little bit less than two years after wrestling lost Eddie Guerrero, one of it’s good guys, more bad news now needs to be written into the script. Canadian Wrestler Chris Benoit was found dead in his Fayetteville, Georgia home alongside his wife Nancy and his 7-year-old son Daniel. The cause? Double Murder-Suicide. Meaning he merked his wife and child and then ethered himself. What normally seems almost unlikely or impossible in all the best murder flicks seems to be the story they are sticking to. Now death is no laughing matter, even though the man’s signature moves were the Three Amigos, the Suicide Dive and the Tombstone Piledriver-but what shocks me the most here is how the WWE is marketing it. Given, it is the WWE, the same bastards that cleverly market any birth, marriage or death, but here they have clearly posted the words DOUBLE MURDER-SUICIDE on their website’s frontpage, alongside pictures of Benoit. As if people don’t know where to get their news… Is this really the light you want to show one of your wrestlers in, the day that he died.
Given, they want to sell t-shirts, but honestly: “a double murder-suicide from within their home”. Isn’t that a bit much, even for these bastards that market violence to kids so effectively. I haven’t watched wrestling in the longest, but god damn if these dudes didn’t raise me for a few years.

Double murder-suicide isn’t set as COD. The autopsies on the bodies are today. Chris didn’t seem like the type of guy to do this to himself and his family. The police said that they aren’t “actively” searching outside the home for suspects, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t any. I still hold hope that Chris didn’t do this to himself and his family, but God rest their souls. May they now find peace. After what Vince did on the show, I’m holding on to the hope that this is one giant stunt. That Chris will walk down to the ring and say “Tah dah!” and be there with his wife and son. May they rest in peace.
