Celebrities in the Blogosphere

By nation of moderation

I don’t surf the net, No I never been on MySpace

With this recent trend of rappers flooding the net, whether it be admitting to read up on certain blogs, leaving comments, agreeing to do interviews, having their own ones, updating it regularly… but also keeping track of some of the latest trends, which would be considered as adapting themselves to the times-I started to wonder… is it that weird that celebrities, or at least rappers and other people in the hip hop spotlight, are blogging or getting on message boards. Before, interviews with different online news outlets were unbelievable. Now the fact that rappers sit down for interviews with blogs (when they used to bash them or not even acknowledge them) seems to blow peoples minds away.

Keep in mind, my least favorite word is blog. Especially when I say it out loud. It pains me to make this post, but here it goes:

Damon Dash
Talib Kweli
Pharrell Williams
Rik Cordero
Kanye West
Just Blaze
Stretch Armstrong
Joe Budden
Marco Polo
D Brad
?uestlove
Phonte of Little Brother
Bun B
Lupe Fiasco (their website is under-construction)
DJ Drama, Lupe Fiasco, Mistah Fab, Hi-Tek, Xzibit, Kidz In The Hall, Pitbull
Phonte’s side hustle
Elliott Wilson a.k.a. YN (congrats on the award)
Torae
DJ Smallz
Chamillionaire
DJ Benhameen (lol)

I know I’m no Hip Hop DX nor am I a XXLMAG (winner of a VH1 Hip Hop Honors award, by the way)… but if one of you D-List celebs wants a spot here, nothing would make me happier than to turn you down. Keep in mind that the internets are watching… reading, wuh eva. Don’t be shy to remind me if I forgot any blogs, even if it’s a MySpace jumpoff. And if you’re a celeb, don’t be scared to reach out or to drop a comment…we’re humans too, as heartless as some of us may sound.

I was on Xzibit’s old label (Sony) forum where he used to post personal messages so they tell me under ‘William Wallace’ and other user names. Lately, he used his MySpace to post messages direct from his European trip that was about 4 months or so long. Last entry was in remembrance of 9/11. Messages look and sounded very personal. Go check’em out, he’s not hard to find.
