Speechless. I’m impressed at the littlest homie’s sense of humor… wow. The outfit, the hairline, the vitamin water… Amazing. Anyway, I thought I’d throw back to one of P’s most heartfelt joints, featuring Ghostface Killah, considering the trial, the real life events with P, Ghostface dropping an album, Joe Budden appearing on Green Lantern’s show and everyone tells me I’m being too hard [||] with Albert.
Joe Budden speaks to AllHipHop.com about Mood Muzik 3. Previews joints that haven’t leaked yet. These songs only got out because people ripped them off of these videos. (more…)
With this recent trend of rappers flooding the net, whether it be admitting to read up on certainblogs, leaving comments, agreeing to do interviews, having their own ones, updating it regularly… but also keeping track of some of the latest trends, which would be considered as adapting themselves to the times-I started to wonder… is it that weird that celebrities, or at least rappers and other people in the hip hop spotlight, are blogging or getting onmessage boards. Before, interviews with different online news outlets were unbelievable. Now the fact that rappers sit down for interviews with blogs (when they used to bash them or not even acknowledge them) seems to blow peoples minds away.
Keep in mind, my least favorite word is blog. Especially when I say it out loud. It pains me to make this post, but here it goes:
The American Gangster track list according to the iTunes Music Store:
1. Amen
2. Blue Magic
3. Untitled
4. Alright, Alright
5. You Don’t Know
6. And The Winner Is
7. American Gangster (Featuring T.I.)
8. Welcome
9. Ignorant Shit
10. The Demise
11. I Get Money (Remix)
What’s weird is the I Get Money remix being on there… but heck, if anyone should cake off of that, it’s Jay. Also, Ignorant Shit being on there is a few years misplaced, but it still fits the feel of the album. And how many U Don’t Know/Don’t You Knows can one man make… we get it, you know something we don’t about you know who doing you know what to you know who. T.I. being on the title track makes sense too… but there’s no sight of No Hook, Vietnam War (feat. Kanye West) or The Return (feat. Nas).
Speaking of the Little Homey, did he fall on his head dropping again and on the same day as Jay? Okay, I get that Def Jam figures 9/11 was a good move, and it was beneficial move Curtis & especially Kanye, but must we recall the real 9/11? Also, someone remind Nas that his Greatest Hits should be an EP, with at least a few new cuts.
Regardless, I can’t wait for the new Jay-Z album and I’m starting to warm up to the idea of Nas being an alright rapper… but somewhere, somehow… Joe Budden & LL Cool J lost. How many albums has Rihanna put out since Joe Budden dropped Gangsta Party?
Today being Joe Budden’s 27th Birthday is a good enough reason for me to give dude some shine on the blog, since he hasn’t gotten much love yet. First of all, if you’re still thinking that this is just the Pump It Up dude, you’re sadly mistaken. Joe Budden, aka THAT DUDE, bka jumpoff, aka King of New Jerz has earned his stripes on the mic, even though many people don’t mention them in their top 5s or 10s. He has a very strong following on the internet, especially since he dropped Mood Muzik: The Worst of Joe Budden and Mood Muzik 2, which is what some may consider as the best mixtape ever put out.
The only constraint to the man’s career, or the only thing people have to say about dude, is the fact that his second album is taking forever to come out, and that Def Jam keeps jerking him. It was all good though, because as long as he would keep dropping tapes like that, no one minded. But now that he’s taking extra long to drop MM3, what he claims isn’t really that long, his fans are acting extra aggie and extra hateful, and every second sentence they say to dude is when he’s dropping more music.
Give him a break, it’s his born day. If you go peep his newly designed MySpace page, you can watch any video with him on it… music videos, interviews, behind the scenes, whatever. Normally I would post his best songs and convert you, but anyone that isn’t already familiar with dude’s work should off themselves. Plus, he has all of the Mood Muziks on his MySpace page. (more…)
