Good Mornian

November 30, 2007

What’s good it’s the greatest blogger alive. Lol nah what’s up folk? Let me just man up and say it, I am a lazy bum and a slacker. I’ll be that. But I can’t sleep knowing my peoples aren’t satisfied. I hope you all got my e-mails, but still… that’s not good enough. I was looking over my “notes” from this summer, and I haven’t posted 1% of what I would have wanted to. Maybe because I lost the motivation to do so when I lost my pictures and music… but that shit is replaceable. Anyway, not here to talk about that… I really don’t have anything to talk about. That Man dropped off these links and I thought I’d share seeing as they’re dope and timely since tomorrow is the God’s birthday (no landLORD), I refuse to wake up (as I have been doing all week). Lol, ever since I plugged in my External Hard Drive [||] on like Tuesday I haven’t been to one class… that’s disgusting. Anyway… I’ll have better stories to recount tomorrow, I’ve just been really piffed all week… and I guess after finals and other bullshit I can truly go in as impeccably hard as I’d want to. Good night & good luck…

Hate Is The New Love

November 8, 2007

Hate Is The New Love

I’m preparing a trip to New York in the next couple of weeks and I don’t know how to long stay because I don’t know what the fuck I’m gonna do there. Now, since my readership is hip hop oriented, and has just about the same tastes as I do, maybe you could help me out. And I’m not only asking people from New York, because as it seems everyone in the world has been to New York already. So far I’ve been here and here… that’s about it. I’m asking you what is there to see and to do in New York. I really want a lot of contribution, even if it’s the Statue of Liberty or if it’s just spitting the sickest verse about N.Y… so stating the obvious can help too. And considering the title of the post, feel free to hate on New York, if that’s humanly possible. I’ll make a top 10 list for people like me if this shit’s official.

Jay-Z – Roc Boys (And The Winner Is)

November 6, 2007

As much as I was trying to hate on Jay this week (yeah right), this video is everything it has to be. It’s pretty much how I imagined the song, but the video normally falls way short. I still think Kingdom Come should of had a video clip. Anyway, the hate part is brilliant, because that’s always true. Puff wearing the same suit he did in Vegas is cool, D Boys yo… Lol @ Nas thinking he ranks amongst them just because Jay told him to show up (How you Escobar?). That L’chaim part was effin’ amazing. The girl puking in the bathroom is a smart idea to shoot, especially from that angle… Jay probably didn’t smash. Speaking of which, does Mariah have a backbone? And that guy they cast as Jay is either happy as hell, or eternally cursed. They should have gotten this kid to do it, seems he ages fast enough.

Shouts to eskay and Young Legend for having every video before the censors do.

Is Jay-Z The New Lyor?

November 4, 2007

Is it in yet?

Try to dig deep in your memory’s archives to 2004 when Mos Def was preparing to drop The New Danger and he had all kinds of promotional buzz after he had a controversial track over Jay’s (actually, Kanye and the Doors’) Takeover beat, a track called The Rape Over. He was taking shots at pretty much any and every wack entity in the music industry, but most notably Lyor Cohen, who we refer to as the tall Israeli. Once he found out Mos was throwing dirt on his name, he had the track pulled from the album.

Now, in 2007… where people are advocating for right of speech via album (sales)… and where Jay-Z claims he stands behind Nas’ Nigger album title, do you think Jay has Ether pulled from his miserable excuse of a Greatest Hits album? Seeing as it was and should be on the track list. Given, those aren’t Nas’ greatest songs, but I guess those are his hits. Why wouldn’t Ether be on there though. Not only is it a great song, musically, lyrically, whatever whatever, but it damn near saved and resurrected his doodoo excuse of a career (which was an opportunity he then wasted on the albums that followed-I dare you to say no). Can’t they just re-re-release Illmatic instead of a GH album? (more…)

Yeezy needed a verse on this album. The video is terrible quality… so was this one though:

You see what I did for hip-hop?

RZA Interviews

October 30, 2007

Why does RZA still talk like a 4 year old? Anyway, he’s doing his rounds for the American Gangster movie and getting some free pub (a la Jay or T.I.’s verse on You Know What It Is) for the 8 Diagrams album, which will probably never see the light of day.

Also the interview with JUICE magazine that never got a chance.

I know these are old… so is RZA, walk with me.

BONUS: Y-Kim shitting on the Wu (and Nas?) .

Jay-Z feat. Nas – Success lyrics

October 30, 2007

These are in no way, shape or form the absolutely correct lyrics. It’ll have to do until I sit down and correct them myself.

Your Success took a shot at you
what are you going to do now?
how are you gonna kill it?
you gonna become unsuccessful?
Frank, you can be successful and have enemies
or;
be unsuccessful too and you can have friends

[Jay-Z:]
I got these niggas breezy, don’t worry about it
Let that bitch breathe!
I used to give a fuck, now I give a fuck less
What do I think of success
It sucks too much to stress
I guess I blew up quick, cause friends I grew up with
See me as a primi, but I’m not and my nut’s big
I don’t know what the fuss is
My career is illustrious
My rep is impeccable
I’m not to be fucked with, with shit
Let that bitch breathe!
I’m way too important to be talking extorting
Asking me for a portion is like asking me for a coffin
Broad daylight I off ya on switch
Ya not too bright, goodnight, long kiss,
Bye-bye, my reply, blah-blah
Blast burner then pass burner, to TyTy
Finish my breakfast, why?
I got an appettite for destruction and you’re a small fry
Now where was I
Let that bitch breathe!
I used to give a shit, now I don’t give a shit more
Truth be told, I had more fun when I was piss poor
I’m pissed off, is this what success all about
A bunch of niggas acting like bitches with big mouths
All this stress, all I got is this big house
Couple cars, I don’t bring half of them shits out
All this ace of spade I drank, just to piss out
I mean I like the taste, could have saved myself six hours
How many times can I go to Mr. Chow’s, Tao’s, Nobu
Hold up, let me move my bowels
I’ll shit on y’all niggas, OG tell these boys

[Juan:]
Y’all ain’t got shit on my nigga

[Jay-Z:]
I got watches I ain’t seen in months
Apartment at the Trump I only slept in it once
Nigga said Hova was over, such dummies
Even if I fell I land on a bunch of money
Y’all ain’t got nothing for me
Nas, let that bitch breathe!

[Nas:]
Success, McLaren, women starin’
My villain appearance
Sacred blood of a king
In my vein ain’t spillin’
Ghetto Othello, Sugar Hill, Romero
Camaro driven
I climax from paper then ask why is life worth livin’
Is it the hunt for the shit that you want
To receive is great but I lust giving
The best jewelers want to make my things
I make Jacob shit on Lorraine, just to make me a chain
Niggas mention of one love, came home to paper in hand
Ain’t got to brag about the feds young man
Old cribs I sold, y’all drive by like monuments
Google Earth Nas, I got flats in other continents
Worst enemies want to be my best friends
Best friends want to be enemies, like that’s what’s in
But I don’t give a fuck, walk inside the lion’s den
Take everybody’s chips, about to cash them in
Up your catalogue dog, mines worth too much
Like Mike Jack’s ATV Pub, Mottola can’t touch
Let this bitch breathe!

[Jay-Z & Nas:]
Let this bitch breathe!

Chicken & Waffres

October 18, 2007

I didn’t find this funny, but I mean if Nas is doing it, we might as well. Plus you never know with the Japs.

This shit was so funny when I heard it because I’d go to my friends house and his mom would point at shit and I would think she was just talking foul. Russell Peters really kills it… especially at live shows (unlike Nas). (more…)
